Took a little test ride today, well not such a little one. Took this baby out for a 50 mile run through some of the twistiest ribbons of pavement I could find. I have a great shop that allowed me the extended time on bike as I had to test how my back (prior surgeries) would fare in a sport position. This bike is an absolute beast as well as being an absolute blast. I do have some ergonomic issues however as I need my next bike to be comfortable for the long haul as I am planning a 5500 mile cross-country trip next summer. Reach and seat position are the biggest issues with the bike 'as is'. Looking into what is available in the way of risers to put me back a bit further on the seat.

Does anyone has any experience with the 2015+ R1200R? Would love your thoughts.

Put a giant bow on it and gift yourself. Merry Christmas.

Nice looking. Reminded me at first glance of a KTM 690 Duke I was looking at. Also looks fun!

Test rode the bike for a day. It is truly a beast of a bike, but not very heavy. If you put the bars up too high the wind will be a problem on long distance rides. For touring the R1200RS might be a better choice and/or more suitable. You are free to put as high a riser as you need without the negative affect of wind pressure. Just my thoughts
